CPR and 1st Aid Training

As of October 2024, in-person CPR training will be required. With the new requirements, each branch and their parents and relief care providers will receive an email separately from the Training Team and/or Relief Care Team.

Things to keep in mind when choosing a company to complete your training with:

  • CPR & 1st Aid training is due every two years.
  • Per Minimum Standards, we can accept instructor-led blended/hybrid learning.
  • Training curriculum must be Pediatric CPR and must include Pediatric First Aid training.

HOPEcpr, located in Austin, has several classes each month that are available for in-person training. When attending the class, let them know you are a DePelchin family and they will waive the fee; there is no fee to DePelchin affiliates for classes offered through HOPEcpr.

Pardon our mess! We are still working out the kinks of in-person training, although in-person classes are the new requirement for Pediatric CPR and Pediatric 1st Aid, Houston still has the option of virtual classes temporarily.

HOPEcpr will continue to provide virtual classes for DePelchin; email hopecprtx@gmail.com to register for a class, include the names of participants and that you are with DePelchin and list your location – Houston; HOPEcpr will email the registrants with relevant information.

Lonestar CPR, located in Lubbock, has several classes each month that are available to our foster parents free of charge. When attending the class, let them know you are a DePelchin affiliate; there is no fee for DePelchin families who attend classes offered through Lonestar CPR.

PLEASE NOTE: DePelchin affiliates must call to register and inform them that you are with DePelchin. When you arrive in person, you will need to remind them again that you are with DePelchin so they can record your name and bill DePelchin directly.

If DePelchin affiliates attempt to register online, you will be required to pay up front.

First Response CPR Training are now offering blended courses where a portion is online, and the rest is in-person.
