Personal and Workplace Safety
This training will be helpful in teaching community based professionals how to develop an awareness of their environment, what observation skills are necessary when making initial contact with a client, symptoms that are present when someone looses control, and some non-verbal and non-verbal signs of anger and aggression among other important aspects of a visit.

This new American Heart Association three hour group class offers updated guidelines and certification for two years on Adult, Child and Infant CPR including choking. Additionally, the class covers what to do in case of environmental emergencies in an industrial facility and outdoor safety for the children or adults. Also covered, when applicable, are extensive First Aid and Automated External Defibrillators or AED training.

ELEMENTS OF SUPERVISION
This session is the first in the Clinical Supervision Certification series. It develops a context for supervision that includes the clinical, educational, and administrative functions of the supervisor. It explores the characteristics necessary to become an effective supervisor, different methods of supervision, the process of educational assessment of the supervisee and an in-depth discussion of the licensing board requirements of supervision.

This Play Therapy class will show some of the historical use and interpretation of art in child therapy. Also to be mentioned is how this approach examines the use of the self-portrait technique in the process of healing. Information about self-portraits will also be discussed.

Using Family Therapy is a highly effective approach to resolving some important issues in a client’s life. This Play Therapy class will provide the practitioner with skillsets on diagnosis, improving relationships and changes associated with these relationships. Some play techniques will also be introduced, reviewed, and related to the overall concept of play in Family Therapy.

MOVING THROUGH THE SUPERVISORY PROCESS
This session is the second in the Clinical Supervision Certification series. It discusses supervision as an interactive process involving the supervisor and the supervisee. It introduces various models of supervision as a process, with special emphasis on a developmental model; includes content related to the developmental process of the supervisor; discusses models for the evaluation of the supervisee and supervision; and provides parameters to distinguish clinical supervision from therapy.

This session is the final one in the Clinical Supervision Certification series. This session covers the ethical responsibilities of the supervisor to the profession, the client, and to the supervisee. It explores the issues arising from the supervisor and the supervisee sharing different ethical frameworks. Legal responsibilities of the supervisor and ways the supervisor can be protected from malpractice claims are explored in depth.

Presenters will provide the class with an introduction of Theraplay and how the role of play in Marschak Interaction Methods works. Video clips of sessions using Theraplay will be shown and discussed. Theraplay treatment planning and Theraplay role plays will also be a significant part of this Play Therapy session.
